The summation of values of words and phrases gives us insight into the actual meaning of the word/phrase and possible links to other words or phrases which have similar values. For example, the word ‘ladder’, sulam סולםin Hebrew, which appears in the story of Jacob’s ladder, has a gematrical value of 130. It was the first time that Heaven and Earth were linked together and God told Jacob that a great nation would come from his seed. One hundred and thirty is the same gematrical value as the word Sinaiסיני, when Heaven and Earth were linked a second time and God delivered the Ten Commandments to Moses.
